Amex Offers New Perks for Delta SkyMiles Cards

American Express came out with a fresh promo for new Delta’s Gold and Platinum SkyMiles credit cards’ owners. It is promised that those who will manage to seize the opportunity of it, will be able to easily cover the cost of their card annual fee for several years. It will be recalled that the Gold card annual fee is $95, and the Platinum card charges $195 per year. Let’s find out whether it is as profitable in fact.

The Gold Delta SkyMiles Card Intro Offer

In the first three months, new holders of the Gold Delta SkyMiles Card will be able to get 50% back from all purchases made directly with Delta, up to $300 in total. The earned amount will be credited to their account as statement credits. Another nice perk is extra 30,000 bonus miles that new cardholders can get in case they spend $1,000 in the first three months. This amount is equal to $300 when redeemed for eligible Delta flights.

If we count, the Gold Delta SkyMiles Card can bring you up to 60% back. To get the most out of it, spend $1,000 in the first three months and get up to $600 – $300 cash back (this amount can cover the annual fee three times), plus additional $300. But remember that $600 should be spent directly with Delta.

The Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card Intro Offer

New Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card members will also receive 50% cash back as statement credits for purchases made directly with Delta in the first three months. With this card, the maximum amount to get is $500. The second part of the welcome bonus is bigger than the Gold card’s and is 50,000 bonus miles, or $500 for eligible Delta flights. However, the amount to spend in the first three months for getting this bonus is also higher – $3,000.

The Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card is supposed to yield up to 33% back. If you spend those $3,000 in the first 90 days, you will get up to $1,000 back – $500 cash back (which is enough for paying the card’s annual fee for 2,5 years) and extra $500. In this case, $1,000 should be spent directly with Delta.

How to Get Delta SkyMiles Card Intro Offer

All in all, the Amex offer seems to be a good bargain for those who never had Delta credit cards before. Unfortunately, the offer is limited in time and is available only until August 15. Thus, if you want to take part, you have to hurry up. Once you are approved and fulfill all the conditions, a statement credit will be automatically applied to your account in 8-12 weeks after you make a qualifying purchase. The 30,000 or 50,000 miles will also be credited to you in 8-12 weeks after you spend the required amount.
