Last Chance to Enjoy Citi Benefits

2099Only a week is left before Citi finally winds up most of the travel and consumer perks their credit cardholders got used to. We would like to remind you that the bank announced this bonus cancellation on almost all of their rewards credit cards about two months ago. So, looking for the pros, at least some time was given to make the last use out of the benefits and accept the situation.

However, in case you are still out of the swim, let’s sort it out a bit. If your wallet contains such cards as the American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp℠ Card, the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi, the Citi Double Cash Card, the Citi Premier Card, or the Citi Prestige Card, then you get on the list and should be ready to face changes on September 22, 2019.

Depending on the card, you may no longer be able to use Citi Price Rewind, Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection, Worldwide Travel Accident Insurance, Baggage Delay and Lost Baggage Protection, Travel and Emergency Assistance, Worldwide Car Rental Coverage, Roadside Assistance Dispatch Service, Damage and Theft Purchase Protection, 90 Day Return Protection and some other extra options. The only Citi credit card that stays aside is the Costco Anywhere Visa® Business Card by Citi. Its owners won’t have to part with any of their favorite benefits.

To read the details and discover what will or will not stay accessible on your particular card starting next Monday, log in to your online account and check notifications. In addition, you can look through an updated Citi Guide to Protection Benefits that can be downloaded from the Citi official website or simply contact customer service.

Of course, the news may seem quite unpleasant and even shocking. But according to the company official, the decision on the elimination was taken “due to sustained low usage” of the mentioned perks and aimed to “providing key benefits Citi customers use and value most at no additional cost.” Still, if you disagree and find the benefits to be taken away quite useful to you, note that many of them are available with other issuers’ credit cards. Thus, the choice is always yours.
