Higher one introduces multiple checking account options

The features of the new checking accounts that are being introduced by Higher One are different from the ones that are offered on the basic OneAccount. Some of the features that are different from the ones that were available in the past are the absence of PIN fees, access to simplified online banking and also a certain number of reimbursements for international ATM fees. All the features offered on these three new accounts that are being rolled out are targeted towards helping students have a better control over the finances and manage their money wisely.

The COO, as well as co-founder, of Higher One, Miles Lasater said that they were constantly trying to find out the various features that would work in the favor of students and  stand by their preferences and the ones that would not. The checking account options that are now being rolled out to newer customers have been given a thumbs-up by the existing customers. These options have also been offered to customers after careful consideration about their requirements.

Adding further, Lasater also said that the new checking account that are being offered to students do have a stipulated minimum balance and also insured by the FDIC. He also said that these accounts were being offered by their regular banking services provider. The silver lining for students is the fact that opening these accounts do not require a  credit check. Another benefit is that these new checking accounts are not linked to any charge card or prepaid card, but to a debit MasterCard, which is to help students  stay away from credit card debts.

Lasater said that Higher One began to work with students by offering them favorable checking account over a decade ago with the sole objective of making all financial transactions transparent. Their checking accounts have always been focused towards simplifying the banking experience for students and making it simpler to comprehend and track. He also said that the students today are unlike those in the past. Considering this he said that Higher One brought about many changes to work in their favor.
