Hilton Honors Makes It Easier To Earn Reward Points

2005If you’ve got a credit card that earns you Hilton Honors points, you’re in luck. The hotel loyalty program is rolling out new perks and more point-earning potential this April, giving Hilton Honors members an easier way to accrue points and get rewards.

Mark Weinstein, senior vice president and global head of customer engagement at Hilton, says members asked for simpler, more straightforward ways to earn points, and the company responded. “Now more than ever, every stay counts. There’s always another milestone to reach, benefit to unlock, reward to earn,” said Weinstein. He said that Hilton properties are constantly evolving to give Hilton Honors members a better experience, with free Wi-Fi, members-only rates, and the ability to use Amazon Shop with Points and Points Pooling to redeem points in more and different ways.

Elite status has its perks – now more than ever

Elite tier status qualifications have changed, with new bonus rates for Silver, Gold, and Diamond members, who will earn either a 20 percent bonus, an 80 percent bonus, or a 100 percent bonus on all their stays. And all Hilton Honors members will earn 10,000 bonus points every tenth night they stay at a Hilton property, once they’ve spend at least 40 nights in one calendar year. This offer does not expire, there is no cap on rewards, and members do not have to register for the bonus. Diamond members will get an additional bonus of 30,000 points when they spend 60 nights in a year.

In addition, Silver, Gold, and Diamond members will be able to roll over their qualifying nights earned beyond their current elite tier requirements. These nights will counts toward their elite tier status the following year, so every night counts toward elite status. Any member who stays at a Hilton property for 60 or more nights per year can also gift their Gold status to a travel companion. Guests who stay for 100 or more nights in a year are upgraded to a Diamond gift for their lucky friend, loved one, or colleague.

Most of these benefits will come in April, but certain new benefits are already in effect, such as access to four new American Express cobranded credit cards. Members can apply for the cards now, and increase their Hilton Honors points-earning right away. Joining the program is easy and free.
